Chairperson's Message

God gives every bird its food, but he does not throw it into its nest. What does that mean for our businesses? That means that during times when it is slow, for many of us it is the summer, we have to be creative and look for different avenues to market our businesses. For those of you that come to the breakfasts, you have the opportunity to network with 50 to 60 people and let everyone that is in the room know what you do and what your specialty is. Many times after the meeting is over someone will come up to me and let me know that they are looking for a promotional item or I will approach someone that I need their services. It is called networking. We have so many resources in our Chamber please remember to take advantage of them when you need the services at work or at home. Remember to check out the Chamber Directory first. It is also on our website, you can find it by going to www.covina.org

Some of the new features on our website are: members are able to post job opportunities and it does not cost anything. Also, every month there will be a survey question, look for it and take a second to post your answer.

For those of you that contributed to and/or bought our "1st Edition Chamber Recipe Book" last year, we are looking for new recipes for our Second Edition. We are hoping to publish it this fall, just in time for your Christmas gift giving. If you are a member, you can contribute up to 3 recipes (that is 3 from different members of you company, not just three recipes). The benefit you have is your recipe is in print, your name and the name of your company is advertised. We still have a few of last years recipe books left if you want to purchase one for $10.00. The Covina Concert Band will be honoring the Covina Chamber of Commerce at a

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Thursday, July 3rd at 7:00pm in Covina Park Band Shell. Enjoy an evening of music under the stars and just relax.
